They say that the people of New England are very friendly.
Nowhere is this more so than Vermont and Stowe in particular.

We had visited the Overland Restaurant the previous week and went back for more. There we got chatting with Carol as she served us mountains of pasta and meatballs. We discovered that they had moved to Waterbury fairly recently from New York and were working 6 days a week at the restaurant.

We were invited to spend Sunday afternoon and evening with Carol and Sarkis Hand, the owners.

We met the whole family including John and Ellie Hilferty, Carol's parents. We were treated to a "cook-out" on the deck and enjoyed both the terrific suroundings of their home nestled at the bottom of the mountains, and superb food.
